Mother Daughter Journey

2026/7

We would like to invite you to a year-long journey for mothers and daughters deep in the forest of Brogo.

We are creating a beautiful setting to take time out with your daughter in community with other women, under the stars.

We will explore ourselves as women and girls, mothers and daughters in wild nature spaces, gently introducing the concepts around physical changes and emotional changes of adolescence (puberty, moon cycle, body changes).

Girls will have the opportunity to hear stories from their mother and other women about their journeys through this time.

This is a program designed to prepare:

💟 the mother-daughter relationship for the teenage phase of development

💟 mothers to explore their own emotional landscape in relationship to their daughters approaching adolescence

💟 mothers to reflect on their own journey of adolescence in a held space with their daughter and with other women

💟 girls to explore themselves as they approach becoming young women

💟 girls to develop a positive sense of self in the world through learning about self-reflection, how to nurture self and explore relationship with other women and girls in their lives

Camp Logistics

The program will be structured for whole-group activities in simple sharing circles, storytelling, games, and craft activities creating an opportunity to weave meaningful connections. Our longer term vision and intention is to seed the potential for a web of support as a community of women.

There will be time when the group splits into a women’s circle and a girls’ circle. The mother’s circle will spend time revisiting their own experience as a girl coming of age, and considering how they want to support their daughter through this time. We will explore these ideas through guided self- reflection, inner journey, journaling and myth.

The girls will go on adventures and do activities that are related to the content described above. The focus with the girls will be having fun, co-operative play based games, art, craft, exploring literally through the forest and also their own emotional landscape through journaling and building self- awareness tools.

This four season journey involves a commitment for a Mother’s Sharing Circle, two picnics (Sundays 11am – 3pm), and four (mostly-catered), 24-hour camps (Saturdays 11am – Sundays 11am).

Mother’s circle: Sunday 6 September 2026, 10am-1pm @ Quaama Hall

This is the beginning of our journey in circle together as women. We will come together for a few hours to have a cuppa and circle with our intentions for stepping into this journey, our hopes and fears as our daughters approach becoming young women and a chance to talk as adults without the girls present.

Spring picnic: Sunday 8 November 2026, 11am-3pm

This picnic will be an opportunity for all the mums and daughters to come together at the site where the camps will be, to get to know each other in the setting and get a taste of what’s to come.

Spring camp: Saturday 28 November 2026, 11am – Sunday 29 November 2026, 11am

The theme of this camp is Births and Beginnings. We will continue to form as a group, with the girls beginning to explore some of the themes of the journey, and the mums exploring the births of their daughters.

Summer camp: Saturday 20 2027, 11am – Sunday 21 February 2027, 11am

The theme of this camp is Female Connections. We will have discussions about what friendship is, our connections to our Red Thread (Maternal Line), and how we relate to other women.

Autumn camp: Saturday 8 May 2027, 11am – Sunday 9 May 2027, 11am

The theme of this camp is Cycles and Self. This will be our time to dive deeply into female cycles, set within the framework of the cycles of the earth and the human lifespan. The mothers (and girls who have started bleeding) will also be invited to explore the experience of their menarche (first menstruation) and what their menstrual cycle has meant to them over the years.

Winter picnic: Sunday 25 July 2027, 11am-3pm

This picnic is an opportunity for us to stay connected over winter, when camping is less appealing!

Spring camp: Saturday 11 September 2027, 11am – Sunday 12 September 2027, 11am

The theme of our final camp is Celebrations of Beauty. To close this year-long journey, we will take the time to celebrate ourselves and our connections to each other!

commitment

For this to work, a commitment is required to keep integrity in the group. We ask that you commit to all the events, and encourage you to trust the journey.

The cost for each mother-daughter pair will be $995 for the whole year-long journey. Payment plans are available.

To help keep the cost as affordable as possible, we ask that each mother-daughter pair bring food for a shared lunch on the Saturday. Nourishing dinner and breakfast will be provided, as well as morning and afternoon tea. The catered meals will be vegetarian, with gluten-free and dairy-free options.

There is room for 6 mother-daughter pairs. Numbers are intentionally held at 6 mothers and daughters so the group is small enough for depth and safety and large enough for diversity.

We are really excited to be calling this into our community. We are both available to have phone chats and answer questions or discuss any queries, just get in touch and we can make it happen. We look forward to welcoming you and your daughter on this journey!

 With gratitude

 Radha and Emilie
